The traffic lights at the intersection can be 'manipulated' to allow easy egress and access of the fire engines in emergencies.
This station built in 1936, has been known as Gordon Fire Station, even though geographically it is within the Pymble boundary. (visit link)
The permanent staff are under the ME2 Zone Office.
There is parking out the back for the firemen.

It was believed that they had 'fire pole', but I have never seen one as I have walked past.
