This is one of three clocks placed on the Town Hall in the work carried out prior to its re-opening in 2012. This clock over looks The Promenade. A second clocks looks towards Gansey and a third, looks down on Chapel Beach and Happy Valley.

The Village Commissioner approached by Henry Goldsmith towards the end of 2011, with the notion that he wanted to give something back to the Isle of Man, which has been his home for many decades. A number of options were discussed, but when Henry suggested that he would like to donate a clock, the Board was unanimous in their support.

After reviewing all of the possible locations to place the clock, the Board felt that with the work then being undertaking to bring the Town Hall back into use, the addition of a clock would be a really nice addition to the Town Hall.

Henry was delighted with the proposal. So much so, that Henry kindly suggested that a clock on each of the three faces of the Town Hall would look even better.

The Commissioners worked closely with Henry and his chosen supplier ('As Time Goes By') to create clocks which fitted with the look of the village whilst complementing the Town Hall.

This clock is set high on the front of the Town Hall and has a simple plain white face with black roman numerals at five minute intervals and minute markers. The clock has black minute and hour hands. The Clock Face also shows "Goldsmith 2012" to mark the generous benefactor Henry Goldsmith who donated the clocks and the date of their installation.
