I'm amazed I even noticed this dedicated tree plaque while passing through Yreka. It reads:

THIS TREE NAMED IN HIS MEMORY

The lot this large tree resides on is part of a law office but at one time I'm assuming there may have been a ranger station or office here.
P.J. Hill's grave is in Evergreen Cemetery in town. He's listed as being born in 1885 and died October 28, 1938.
