I 1877 fik Historisk Samfund lokaler i huset.
English:
Historical Society in Randers has office in the old House of The Holy Ghost in Central Randers.
The house was built back in 1434 and worked as a kind of hospital and nursing home. It belonged under the bishops of the country.
The money needed to build the house was collected through sale of indulgence letters: By byuing these letters you could avoid a certain amount of days in the purgatory. This practice ended with the reformation in 1517. From 1489 the leadership of the house was taken over by the catholic Order of the Holy Ghost.
The municipality bought the house in 1782 and in 1783 a latin school (grammar school) opened.
Later a technical school took possession of the building.
Historical Society got a room here in 1877.
Today the house is used for arts exhibitions and as meeting rooms for different associations.
