A box to read newly installed at the entrance to the town park, the other on the place of the great oven Gascougnolles. These are the first two books in boxes made available to the public for a book exchange to facilitate and above all reading, at a time when the latter seems abandoned, and finally to share the pleasure of reading. To meet these objectives, the municipality, led by Anne Bonneau, Deputy specifically responsible for public reading, decided to create "this new cultural space" open to all. Several partners collaborated in its realization: the volunteers of space-books that have worked on the project, then the municipality, municipal workshops and Patrick Coquet who built the boxes. The finish was given to the children of children-youth center, as part of an educational project. They were asked last week, waiting for another facility in July, the deadlock in pre Arthenay. Eventually, every village will have its "book box".
How it works ? Each deposited a book or books, magazines, comic books ... anyone can take or exchange ...
The book must be in good condition and, of course, offer all age texts!

Une boîte à lire vient d'être installée à l'entrée du parc de la mairie, l'autre sur la place du grand four à Gascougnolles. Ce sont les deux premières boîtes à livres mises à la disposition du public, pour un échange de livres, pour faciliter aussi et surtout la lecture, à un moment où celle-ci semble délaissée, et enfin pour partager le plaisir de lire. Pour répondre à ces objectifs, la municipalité, sous la conduite d'Anne Bonneau, adjointe chargée notamment de la lecture publique, a décidé de créer «ce nouvel espace culturel» ouvert à tous. Plusieurs partenaires ont collaboré à sa concrétisation : les bénévoles de l'espace-livres qui ont planché sur le projet, la municipalité ensuite, les ateliers municipaux et Patrick Coquet qui ont construit les boîtes. La finition a été confiée aux enfants de l'espace enfance-jeunesse, dans le cadre d'un projet éducatif. Elles ont été posées la semaine passée, en attendant une autre installation en juillet, impasse du pré à Arthenay. A terme, chaque village aura sa «boîte à livres».
Comment ça marche ? Chacun dépose un ou des livres, des revues, des bandes dessinées… que quiconque peut prendre, voire échanger…
L'ouvrage doit être en bon état et, évidemment, proposer des textes tout public !
