At the entrance to the cemetery is a plaque which commemorates the life & death of Constable William Eiffe. Born in Ireland in 1833 he migrated to Australia in 1857 joining the NSW Police Force in the same year. He was on a gold escort through the Moonbi Ranges about 7 miles away when he was handed another constable's rifle, a cap & ball style weapon. Resting it on his thighs, the rifle discharged, critically wounding him. A doctor was brought from Tamworth however he had already died two days before, on 25th January 1867.

The graves are all of the monumental style.
