A modest church of brick with a weatherboard portico & coloured glass windows. There is a pole at the rear with an illuminated Star of Bethlehem at the apex.
A village soon grew at the crossing point of the McDonald River and in 1853 was named Bendemeer. By 1866 the township had a recorded population of 150 and the following year St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church was built to serve the growing congregation.
