The home is also known as "The Brownlee Home", "The Old W.W. Brownlee Home", and "The Brownlee-Longmire Home." The home really speaks for itself, but there is a short and sweet 1968 Texas Historical Marker by the front door, noting this home as Recorded Texas Historic Landmark:

Built 1872 with lumber hauled from Jefferson. Second story was added later. Bought 1946 by Alex Longmire.
