"The parish church of St. Joseph
The Josephskirche is next to the cathedral the second largest Catholic church in the city of Speyer.

The foundation was laid on June 9, 1912. Two years later, on 22 November 1914, the then bishop Dr. von Faulhaber consecrated the Gotteshaus.

In the summer of 1917 the art painter Ronge from Munich painted the pictures for the side altars. The four high altars also depict scenes from his childhood, Jesus. His paintings served him in Rogier v. Weyden in the old Pinakothek in Munich.

The Trinity Group, the so-called Gnadenstuhl © Ursula StiefelGnadenthron at the Hochaltar, is by Professor Thomas Buscher from Munich. Who also created the Pieta in the Eggidic Chapel, which in 1925 was transformed into a fallen memory chapel.

The crosswalk stations with the Kreuzaltar as well as the statue of St. Aloysius and the Joseph statue are works by the sculptor Georg Busch.

In 1988/89 the church was extensively renovated and in 1990 the new Wilbrandorgel was inaugurated. (Source: Kleiner Kunstführer: St. Joseph Speyer, Clemens Jöckle)
