I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey BM from 1920 in good condition. It is a tidal BM monumented on top of a concrete culvert in the NE corner, just north of some railroad tracks. The 1988 NGS datasheet description is adequate for station recovery. This BM also exists on a topography map as 'BM 884.2'. My posted coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

On a side note, the community of Hilt is a shell of its former glory days as a logging/box company town from the late 1800s to the early 1970s. Virtually every building in town has been destroyed or burned down. Only two buildings remain worth noting. The nearby Hilt Church and the former Cole Stage Coach Station, now a private home. The Old Oregon-California Stage Road from 1856-1887 passed through here. Lots of history over the decades in this dying community.
