I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey BM from 1920 in excellent condition. It is a tidal benchmark monumented on top of a concrete sidewalk and near a couple of telephone poles. This benchmark also exists on a topography map with an 'X'. The 1954 NGS datasheet description is adequate for station recovery. My accurate coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

On a side note, it was almost depressing to visit this part of Hornbrook. The community is literally a shell of its former glory days as a bustling mining/logging/railroad town in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Very few remnants remain of the once busy Front Street. A shell of a building that was once home to the Woodman of the World and Knights of Pythias Lodges stands nearby. A historical marker also nearby commemorates the 60th anniversary of the local American Legion Post whose national charter was signed by President Woodrow Wilson when he passed through Hornbrook on Sept. 16, 1919 on the train (just a year before the benchmark was monumented). So this benchmark existed on the same concrete sidewalk a year after President Wilson came through town almost 100 years ago. Cool.
