In the Everglades, elevation changes of just a few inches means a completely different ecosystem. The pinelands are on the "high ground" of a few inches higher than the glades. Tree snails are common here, as well as pines, gumbo limbo, bromeliads, and palmettos. Enjoy the short walk into the ecosystem before continuing down the road to experience the glades, the cypress domes, the mangroves, and the salt glades.
