The monument called 'Tradition' can be seen in Heroes Square, George Town, Grand Cayman. It was dedicated by HRH Prince Edward of Essex for the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the Cayman Islands by Columbus.

The monument Tradition by Simon Morris was unveiled and dedicated by HRH Prince Edward of Essex in George Town, Grand Cayman on May 10, 2003 during the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the Cayman Islands by Columbus. It represents father and son on a ship’s deck. It was re-dedicated and relocated to its new and permanent home in Heroes Square in 2007 in the presence of many families and friends of those whose names it carries, the 450 brave and heroic seafarers who lost their lives at sea.

The plaque reads: "Tradition" Sculpture by Simon Morris / In memory of those who gave their lives for country and family / Tradition was originally unveiled and dedicated by TRH the Earl of Wessex on the 10th day of May 2003 during the Quincentennial Celebrations in the presence of families and friends of those lost at sea. / Tradition was re-dedicated and laid in its final resting place in Heroes Square on the occasion of the National Heroes Day Celebrations on the 22nd day of January 2007 in the presence of: (names).
