In the north central part of the city, this tower provides the water supply for Summerside.

Summerside is not that big a city. The second largest on the Island, its population is just under 15,000, the metro area, about 16,500. The BIG sign on the tower tells us that Summerside was incorporated in 1995. That was as a city; Summerside has actually been here since 1804, or actually earlier, as the area was occupied for some years previously by Loyalists from the American colonies who arrived here in 1784-86.

I've often wondered where cities would hang their cell phone antennas were it not for water towers. We do know that some of the more devious cities will hide them in church steeples and such.
