In Norwood, within the Old Parish Cemetery, is the family headstone marker, is Mary D. Chickering, who lived a little over 100 years - in a time when she saw the young country form and grow.
The cemetery is located near the Norwood Depot commuter rail station. There is an entrance on Railroad Avenue, just west of the parking lot for the station. The cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Norwood - at the time it was established around 1742, this area was still part of Dedham. The marker is about 50 ft east of the entrance from Washington Street, under the shade of trees.
