At the front (west) edge of the cemetery, along MacEwen Road, are a pair of zinc headstones, the Bessie Waugh headstone and this, the monument for John L. Baker. Both are thick slabs on substantial bases with ornate decoration. This headstone has rustication on the base, the sides and even the top, which is shaped to somewhat emulate a rounded stone.
