This building was a replacement for the original grammar school which was to the rear of Lough House on Approach Road.
The foundation stone for this building was laid in 1864 and the School opened in 1865. Ramsey Grammar School moved to the old Wesleyan School in Albert Road in 1922 but retained this building as the schools science laboratories. The school finally vacated the premises in 1933 when the first building on Lezarye Road was opened.
Today the building is home to the Ramsey Youth Centre.
The Building is No. 6 on Ramsey Rotary Club's Heritage Trail in Ramsey and is entitled - 6. Old Grammar School.
