This old parish church of unknown dedication in Hemington was abandoned centuries ago, and all that remain are these ruins. The church itself is on private property, but is perfectly viewable from a footpath that runs past it.
"The ancient church, standing on high ground on the south side of the village street, but disused, according to Wyrley, in 1590, and now in ruins, is, even in its present condition, an elegant example of the Early Decorated style; it originally consisted of chancel, nave of three bays, aisles and a western turret with spire, almost the whole of which, except the outer walls of the aisles and the roofs, still remain, the windows of the chancel retaining their graceful reticulated tracery; the chancel roof was intact in 1825, that part of the building being for some time in use as a Free school and afterwards as a dwelling house; it is now roofless, but otherwise perfect, and retains a piscina in the south wall: the arcade on the south side of the nave with its octagonal pillars also remains, but the north arcade has fallen: the tower was Early English and had a plain octagonal broach spire, with one tier of dormers; it formerly contained one bell, which is said to have been removed to a neighbouring church."

"Ruins of former parish church. C14 chancel and east responds of nave arcades only; C13 tower completely collapsed April 1986. Rubble stone, with no roof. Chancel retains most of shell walls, with chamfered plinth and off-set buttresses. 2 bays of C14 2-light Decorated windows with remains of cusped tracery and double chamfered surrounds. Similar 3-light east window. Later doorway inserted in south wall. Double chamfered chancel arch on semi-octagonal piers with moulded capitals. Similar piers attached to west wall are all that remain of nave arcade."
