Cutler Gardens has dedicated a small area to the growing of native plants. There is a small stream by it. It was a bird area and is now a native plant area.

These are flowers that belong in the woods. This area was originally mostly forests before European settlement. Seven flowers are listed by their Scientific names. The flowers include Hepatica, Dutchman's Breeches, Jack in the Pulpit and Trillium.

text: "This small area is being developed into an area showcasing a few of our native wildflowers. These spring ephemerals send for the their flowers in the early spring, usually before the trees are fully leafed out, then quickly fade away until next year leaving only their leaves to mark their presence."
