On the south side of Main Street, Great Hill Cemetery is on the western edge of the little village of Columbia Falls.

Great Hill Cemetery was established in the 1830s. Remaining in use to this day it has received something over 250 interments. Of these only a handful have zinc headstones.
Side by side, near the northwest corner of the cemetery are the zinc headstones of John & Amanda Pineo. Small slab like monuments, the two matching headstones with rounded tops and arched bottoms stand on rectangular bases with two angled and flared steps. Both headstones are single sided, with the backs matching the fronts, but with no inscription on either. This is the headstone of Amanda Pineo.
