John Landi, a local banana plantation farmer built 'The Big Banana' to draw more customers to his fruit stall on the Pacific Highway just north of Coffs Harbour in 1964.

It is thought to be the reason why Australia is so "Big Things" obsessed.
Apart from buying bananas, there is tours through the plantation, and MANY activities for the children and athletic.
