Each of the four seasons are represented by a fountain on the four corners of the Baroque Piazza Vigliena commonly known as the Quattro Canti in Palermo, Sicily. The Winter Fountain is located in front of the Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace).
The Spring Fountain features a statue of a woman with very curly hair wearing an floor length dress or possibly coulottes under an elaborate double tiered blouse that has large sleeve openings. In her left hand she is holding a bouquet of flowers. Her right hand crosses her chest to touch the front of the flowers. A horse-like like creature looks out from her legs at her left side. Water flows out of a wedge shape device from the mouth of a face of a faun into a basin decorated with bunting of fruit and flowers. Water then flows down from two spouts on either side of the basin into a larger, similarly decorated basin below. The fountain is set two steps up on a scalloped pedestal.
