Church Hill Cemetery is on a rise at the shore of Machias Bay, a very picturesque and pastoral location for a cemetery. As well as the zinc grave markers there are quite a number of veterans' gravesites. We were there around the Fourth of July and it was nice to see all the American Flags on the veterans' graves.
The Waide Family Headstone is directly south of the southwest corner of the church, about midway between the church and the south edge of the cemetery. Buried here are the father, Henry B. Waide, the mother, Mary R., and their son Frank H. Their headstone is a fairly common four to five foot obelisk with a stepped base with rustication on the lower step.
