Greenhorn Park contains ano arboretum, although when I visited in February, nothing was growing. There's a sign on a bulletin board in front of the garden that reads:

SISKIYOU ARBORETUM

The Siskiyou Arboretum welcomes you to Greenhorn Park's reservoir trail, a ramble through the park's diverse habitats and home to many botanical treasures. As you walk, look for the markers that identify Siskiyou natives.

In the future, the Arboretum plans to develop more trails and gardens to cultivate the aesthetic, recreational and educational features of the park, turning it into a regional mecca for residents and visitors. Native and traditional plants are a key focus of the Arboretum's design.

The Siskiyou Arboretum is a non-profit educational organization. Volunteers are always needed and highly encouraged to participate in the development of programs and projects.

Another sign asks the Arboretum volunteers of the demonstration garden to take FIVE MINUTES and pull weeds. :)

The Arboretum also has a PDF document of the native plant species that grow in the demonstration garden and along the trails and walking paths within Greenhorn Park.

Finally, the Siskiyou Arboretum has a nursery that can be visited during seasonal months at the east end of Greenhorn Park. Their Facebook page is the link below.
