Die Südstadt-Apotheke verzichtet darauf, Weihnachtsgeschenke an ihre Kunden zu verteilen, und spendet den Betrag für soziale und allgemeinnützige Zwecke. So stiftet die Südstadt-Apotheke in diesem Jahr einen Defibrillator, der in der Turnhalle der benachbarten Grundschule St. Stephan installiert wird. Durch die einfache und sichere Handhabung des Geräts können auch Laien im Notfall damit schnell Erste Hilfe leisten. Der Standort ist sehr gut geeignet, da in der Turnhalle auch Erwachsenensport und auf dem angrenzenden Schulhof große Feste stattfinden. Die Chefin der Südstadt-Apotheke, Eva-Maria Prause, und Senior-Chefin Elfriede Wolf haben mit ihrem Team den Defibrillator an Oberbürgermeister Achim Hütten und Bürgermeister Claus Peitz übergeben. Hütten und Peitz bedankten sich für die großzügige Spende und freuen sich, dass in der Stadt an immer mehr öffentlichen Stellen solche Lebensretter installiert sind."
