[E] Created by the artist Gérard Collin-Thiébaut in collaboration with the master glassmaker Pierre-Alain Parot, these stained-glass windows are placed on the bays of the northern transept of the Saint-Gatien cathedral.
The work of the artist, anxious to continue the tradition of narrative character, integrates biblical references in today's life, offers different representations of Martin de Tours in the stained glass, but also in frescoes and paintings ...
It also invites us to travel through Europe today by declining the various places that the saint has traveled. Gérard Collin-Thiébaut wants to translate his time, superimposes images, silhouettes, events, colors ... and the result is placed in the continuity of the stained-glass windows of the high choir and the famous remote reading.
[F] Créés par l'artiste Gérard Collin-Thiébaut, en collaboration avec le maître verrier Pierre-Alain Parot, ces vitraux sont placés sur les baies du transept nord de la cathédrale Saint-Gatien.
L'œuvre de l'artiste, soucieux de poursuivre la tradition du caractère narratif, intègre des références bibliques dans la vie d'aujourd'hui, offre différentes représentations de Martin de Tours dans le vitrail, mais aussi dans les fresques et les peintures…
Elle nous invite aussi au voyage à travers l'Europe actuelle en déclinant les divers lieux parcourus par le saint. Désireux de traduire son temps, Gérard Collin-Thiébaut superpose des images, des silhouettes, des évènements, des couleurs… et le résultat se place dans la continuité des vitraux du haut chœur et de la fameuse lecture à distance.
