Each of the four seasons are represented by a fountain on the four corners of the Baroque Piazza Vigliena commonly known as the Quattro Canti in Palermo, Sicily. The Winter Fountain is located in front of he Tribunali, courts, building.
The Winter Fountain features a statue of a woman wearing an floor length dress under a robe topped by a cloak which covers her head, shoulders and right side. In her left hand she is holding a small urn with flames rising from the top.Her right hand crosses her chest to touch the vase. An unidentified weasel-like like creature looks out by legs at her right side. Water flows out of a wedge shape device from the mouth of a face which has his head wrapped in a turban into a basin decorated with bunting of fruit and flowers. Water then flows down from two spouts on either side of the basin into a larger, similarly decorated basin below. The fountain is set two steps up on a scalloped pedestal.
