The Exchange Hotel is a brick two storey building with an elaborate plaster pediment on the front facade, the centre of which features the year 1907. The hotel was constructed during the period of prosperity in the town which resulted from the discovery of tin in 1888. Originally the hotel had a verandah along the front , but it has been replaced by an awning.
