"Gothic revival church in yellow brick with sandstone ornamentation and spire. Key landmark in important location adjoining Civic Park and adjacent tabernacle. Architect: F.B. Menkens"
On the Laman Street end of the Church, Auckland Street side, is a white marble Memorial Stone, which states:
"This Memorial Stone
was laid by
Mrs M. S. Narin
on the 31st of October 1889
Minister the Rev T. A. Gordon
Fredr. B. Menkens P.I.A., Architect
R. Dumbrell, Contractor"
