[E] The Saint-Gatien site in the center of Tours has always been dedicated to health.
Early centuries of our era: The care of the sick who fell to the religious at that time, it is logical that the first hospital establishment of the city was created at the foot of the cathedral of Tours.
11th century: The first mention of the "Chapel of the hospital of Tours" is found at the site of the current clinic.
17th century: The Augustinian nuns take over the establishment ... until 1974!
1974: Creation of the S.A. Clinique Saint-Gatien by the doctor Jean-Pierre Alfandari, cardiovascular surgeon. He signed an emphytheotic lease (99 years) with the congregation and wanted to keep the clinic there by bringing it to the highest level of care.

[F] De tous temps, le site de Saint-Gatien dans le centre-ville de Tours a été dédié à la santé.
Premiers siècles de notre ère : La prise en charge des malades incombant aux religieux à cette époque, c’est en toute logique que le 1er établissement hospitalier de la ville ait été créé au pied de la cathédrale de Tours.
11ème siècle : On retrouve la 1ère mention de la « Chapelle de l’hôpital de Tours » à l’emplacement de l’actuelle clinique.
17ème siècle : Les religieuses Augustines prennent en charge l’établissement… jusqu’en 1974 !
1974 : Création de la S.A. Clinique Saint-Gatien par le docteur Jean-Pierre Alfandari, chirurgien cardio-vasculaire. Il signe avec la congrégation un bail emphythéotique (99 ans) et souhaite y maintenir la clinique à cet emplacement en la hissant au plus haut niveau de soins.
