This recycling site is one of four Civic Amenity Sites on the Island providing facilities for local residents to deposit items of general bulky household waste which will not fit into the household waste bin (e.g. washing machines, kitchen units).
The Sites also provide a recycling service for a number of materials including lead acid batteries (e.g. car batteries); dry cell batteries (e.g. rechargeable or single use batteries); scrap metal; garden waste; glass; cans; plastic bottles; paper & clothing.
Potentially hazardous household waste including fridges/freezers, televisions, computer monitors and fluorescent lamps are accepted for recycling.
The site has a 'Re-use Area' for household bric-abrac, household and garden furniture and equipment, bathroom fittings, doors, fitness equipment,construction materials, tool, paint, books and CDs, functioning electrical goods, toys etc.
An electrical waste recycling area for:
small appliances, tv's & monitors, fridges & freezers and fluorescent tubes
Recycling banks for:
food tins & drink cans, mixed glass (bottles & jars), telephone directories, batteries, mixed textiles & clothes, car batteries, paper, foil trays, used engine oil, cooking oil, plastic bottles and paint.
Recycling and waste bays for:
garden waste, hardcore & rubble, scarp metal, flat glass, wood & timber, plasterboard, household waste, soil.
