[E] The Saint-Gatien cathedral, built between 1170 and 1547, is dedicated to Saint Gatien, the first bishop of Tours.
It was listed as a historical monument by a list of 1862.
Its construction having been particularly slow, it presents a very complete set of French religious architecture from the twelfth to the sixteenth century. Thus, the base and buttresses of the towers are of Romanesque period, the general ornamentation is pure Gothic, radiating and flamboyant, and the peaks of the two towers are in the Renaissance style of the early sixteenth century.
It possesses an exceptional jewel: its collection of stained-glass windows.

Elle possède un joyau exceptionnel : sa collection de vitraux.
