City Asks WPA for $2,169 aid to finish Hall.

Total of $4,939 needed to pay workers 1 1/2 months.

An application by the City of Mineola to the Works Program Administration for an additional $2,169 in WPA funds to match an expenditure by the city of $2,772 for the completion of the city has been received by the state WPA office. Following state approval, the project will be forwarded to Washington for the President's okeh.

The additional $4,393 is needed to complete construction on the building begun last December at a cost originally estimated at $17,000.

Leon M. Kinney, district WPA employment officer, estimated the additional allotment would provide employment for an average of twenty-nine workers over a period of one and a half months. The building is expected to be completed by October 1.
