This marker is located near the corner of Church St and Otterville Rd over looking the dam nearby. The dam was part of a mill originally.

"...on the morning of November 3rd., 1814 the Otter Creek mills were burned..."

This action was taken by American troops mostly of Kentucky and under the command of General Duncan McArthur. His mission was to march across this district and burn all known mills."
