The African Methodist Episcopal Cemetery is located just north of Otterville on Pick Line. The cemetery is one of the few remaining black pioneer cemeteries preserved in Ontario. As early as the 1829 escaped slaves from the US came to settle this area, encouraged by nearby Mennonites. A church was built in 1956 on this site which lasted til the early 1900s.
In 2007 the South Norwich Historical Society, guided by Dr. Dean Knight, restored the cemetery.
The cemetery also features a Ontario Heritage Plaque, a Township of Norwich Heritage plaque and a Painted Quilt marker.
