Church of the Virgin Mary - At the Theatines (Klášterní kostel Panny Marie - U Kajetánu)
The cross-shaped church was built in Baroque classical style from 1691-1717 by the monastic order of the Theatines. The church’s extraordinary architecture, attributed to Jean Baptiste Mathey and finished by Jan Santini, is complemented by valuable Baroque sculptures and paintings.

Vaclav Jansa (October 22, 1859 Slatinice - June 29, 1913 Cernošice) (
visit link) Czech landscape artist and illustrator, best known for these views, originally painted in water-colour.
Jansa was apprenticed to buyers, but later he devoted himself to his hobby of drawing and painting. Vaclav Jansa traveled a lot and took to painting landscapes. He painted mostly southern Bohemia and Giant Mountains. Since 1893 was redeveloped historic districts of Prague, Prague ghetto and parts of the Old and New Town. In this time Jansa painted cca 150 colored watercolors documenting disappearing part of the city.

Pohledu z rampy Pražského hradu pres Malou Stranu a Vltavu ke Starému Mestu dominují kostel a kolej theatinu. pozdeji redemptoristu u kostela Panny Marie Ustavicné pomoci a sv. Kajetána. Kostel byl vybudován snad podle projektu Jeana Baptisty Matheye v letech 1691-1717 pro potreby theatinské koleje c.p. 192/111. jež vznikla v letech 1672-1677 na míste stredoveké zástavby a pozdejšího renesancního paláce. Dnešní podoba je výrazne ovlivnena klasicistní prestavbou. Dole strechy a fasády domu v Nerudove ulici. Další dominantu tvorí kostel sv. Mikuláše.
