The African Methodist Episcopal Cemetery is a historic cemetery located north of Otterville, ON. Starting as early as 1829 free balcks and fugitives escaping on the Underground Railroad came to settle in this area after being encouraged by the Religious Society of Friends nearby.
The area is considered a terminus for the Underground Railroad and is one of the few preserved Black pioneer burial grounds in Ontario.
Numerous monuments are located at this site including an Ontario Historic Plaque, Norwich Historical Society and a Painted Quilt.
