The steeple of Forfar`s Parish Church was built in 1813. At its 150 foot tip sits a large metal weathervane nicknamed Mr Griffin which is not a traditional griffin but a creature with a serpents body. The church sits on an elevated site above the town`s High Street and the vane can be seen clearly from a distance.
