Osobnost brnenského básníka, spisovatele a prekladatele Jana Skácela pripomíná socha umístená na jižním svahu pod hradem Špilberkem v míste terénního bastionu. Má podobu stylizovaného portrétu básníka, jehož tvar je definován vrstvami k sobe svarených nerezových trubek. Jejím autorem je akademický sochar Jirí Sobotka.
Netradicní, více než dvoumetrový portrét básníka, tvorí nekolik tisíc bezešvých trubek z kartácované nerezové oceli svarených do tvaru hlavy, která je umístena na vápencovém podstavci. Skrze trubky lze pohlížet na staré Brno.
Skácelova poezie je charakteristická dusledne propracovaným systémem symboliky, v jejímž rámci se jednotlivé motivy jeví jako variace nekolika základních Skácelových témat: detství, ticho, krajina a smrt. Na každé strane kamenného ctyrhranného soklu je vytesáno jedno slovo, které vyjadruje tato ctyri základní básníkova témata.
Socha byla slavnostne odhalena 25.10.2016. Je pokracováním projektu Sochy pro Brno.

Personality Brno poet, writer and translator Jan Skacel reminds statue located on the southern slope below the castle Spilberk in place bastion field. It takes the form of a stylized portrait poet whose shape is defined by the layers to each welded stainless steel tubes. Its author is sculptor Jiri Sobotka.
Unconventional, more than two meter portrait poet, composed of several thousand of seamless tubes of brushed stainless steel welded to the head shape, which is located on a limestone base. Through the tube can be seen on the old Brno.
Skácelova poetry is characterized by consistently elaborate system of symbols, in which the individual motifs appear as variations of a few basic Skácelových themes: childhood, silence, landscape and death. On each side of the rectangular stone plinth is engraved one word that expresses the four main themes of the poet.
The statue was unveiled on October 25, 2016. It is a continuation of the project Statues for Brno.
