The Paseo trail begins at the point where the Consolidated Canal enters the City of Chandler. Although it is possible to follow the canal for miles to the north, the City of Chandler has designated the name for the section within their city limits and has improved the trailside amenities. Point 0 on the trail is accessed from Galveston St. which dead ends at the canal. Limited parking is available on the street but public parking is available a mile south. The trail is 6.5 miles in length and is 10 feet wide and concrete. The other side of the canal is graded dirt and suggested for horse traffic. The Consolidated Canal and the pathways on either side are property of the United States Government and are operated and maintained by the Salt River Project.
