It was a huge hotel and very popular at the top end of the beer market. The sign shows a portrait of The Earl of Clarendon and underneath in fade lettering the words- AN ENTERPRISE INNS FREE HOUSE
The building has been used in different ways since the pub closed and is currently a charity shop for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
