Die Lutherkirche wurde 1898 erbaut und war die erste lutherische Kirche Wiens, die einen Kirchturm hatte, was für evangelische Kirchengebäude bis 1861 verboten war.

Von den drei Glocken, die den Dreiklang "Glaube-Liebe-Hoffnung" symbolisieren sollen, trägt die Grosse die Aufschrift "Fürchte dich nicht, glaube nur!" und die Widmung "Vom Evang.-luth. Frauenverein Währing, 1959". Auf der mittleren Glocke, die 1942 nicht abgeliefert werden musste, steht: "Sei getreu bis an den Tod! Von der Evang. Gemeinde A.B. Wien-Währing, 1932". Die Kleine trägt den Spruch "Seid fröhlich in Hoffnung!" und den Namen der Spenderin "Von Frau Hofrat Martha von Korn, 1959". Alle drei Glocken sind aus einer Zinn-Bronze-Legierung angefertigt.
War unser Geläut früher 1988, 900 und 516 Kilogramm schwer und hatte es einen Des-F-As-Klang, so wiegt es jetzt 1061, 516 und 278 Kilogramm und hat einen E-Gis-H-Akkord. Alle drei Glocken haben jetzt nicht einmal das Gewicht, das früher die grosse Glocke allein hatte.
