The 2.70 x 0.98 x 0.50 meter bronze sculpture the Shepherd with Eagle was created by Pau Gargallo in 1928 and cast at the Codina Hermanos Foundry in Madrid. The sculpture depicts a shepherd wearing only a loincloth. He is leaning over to his right while holding onto an animal, probably a lamb, close to his right leg with his right hand. With his left arm and hand he is fending off and protecting himself from an eagle which is attacking him from above his left shoulder. The eagle has its wings spread and is looking at the shepherd.
