The sign is situated on the wall that surrounds the churchyard of St Mary's Church and next to the steps at the entrance to the church.

On the map the location is marked with a red circle and explained in the key at the top of the map.

Parking is available in front of the church.
Astbury is a village and a parish in Congleton district, Cheshire. The village stands on an affluent of the River Dane, adjacent to the North Staffordshire railway and near the Macclesfield canal.

The St Mary's Church is early English, with a spire; and contains chancel stalls, a rood-loft, some fine screen-work, stained windows, and carved oaken ceilings.
In the churchyard there are two very ancient monuments, with insignia of knighthood and an ancient hollow yew tree that has been scientifically dated at over 2000 years old.

The Egerton Arms opposite the church offers freshly prepared meals and an outdoor garden and childrens play area.
