[FR] Record mondial de portée pour les ponts à haubans lors de son inauguration, le pont de Normandie a nécessité de nombreuses innovations et fait aujourd’hui figure de référence.
Le choix du pont à haubans, mieux adapté aux conditions régnant sur l’estuaire de la Seine, a nécessité de nombreuses innovations technologiques. Il a aussi fallu faire face à des obstacles inattendus : les fondations du pylône nord ont ainsi demandé 1 an de travail à elles toutes seules !

The choice of the cable-stayed bridge, better adapted to the conditions prevailing on the Seine estuary, required many technological innovations. It also had to face unexpected obstacles: the foundations of the North pylon thus required 1 year of work on their own!
