Built in 1913, originally as Gilbert Elementary School, this building, complete with bell is entering its second century of service to the community. Referred to as the Alamo due to its architectural features, the front of the building has supported the bell since its original construction. Over the major arched opening to the building are three arched windows, each with a beam to support a bell. Only the center window has had a bell. Although there doesn't appear to be a method of ringing the bell, the clapper does have an eye that would allow the attachment of a rope.
