This set of plaques is on a moderately large tree stump, in a fenced-off enclosure beside the local Fire Brigade of Upper Orara.

The upper two square ceramic plaques are nailed about 2 metres up the 4 metre tall stump.
The upper plaque reads:
"1886
Upper Orara Karangi
[Flying duck, and fish]
Centenary
1986"
With the lower plaque reading:
"PIONEERS
They gave their today
For our tomorrow"
Below the ceramic plaques is a brass plaque screwed to the stump, which reads:
"This stone memorial marks
100 Years of Settlement
in this District
Carved by Diane Hoschke
It was unveiled by George Kelly
on June, 1986
It depicts the Aboriginal names:
ORARA - "Home of the Perch"
KARANGI - "Wild Duck"
