"Malostranské námestí is the main square of Prague's Malá Strana. St. Nicholas Church and the adjacent building complex divides the square in an upper (western) and lower (eastern) part. From the square Mostecká ulice leads out to the Charles Bridge.

Between 1858 and 1919 a large statue of Austrian field marshall J. J. V. Radecký of Radec by J. Max and E. Max, designed by Ch. Ruben, used to stand right in front of the palace where the tram stop is now (at present time the statue is stored in the Lapidarium of the National Museum)."
