With 'sandstock' bricks, and two green roller doors, and a wooden pole off to the western side of this building - to drain the used fire hoses, this volunteer crew has to be prepared for mostly forest/scrub fires.

The Orara Rural Fire Brigade building

They also need to attend to any residential fires.

A 'roughly sawn' wooden sign has the routed and burnt wording of:
"Orara Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade" (which would be the earlier naming of this unit.

The Older sign

Just down Upper Orara Road is another building, but for the prior unit, called: "Upper Orara Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade", @ S30° 16.885' E153° 0.363'

As that building is now taken over, for the use of the local Landcare group it is just of historical interest.
