This lighthouse is located near Dreswick Point on the Langness Peninsula, which protrudes two kilometres at the southern extremity of the Isle of Man.

This lighthouse was established in 1880. The Lighthouse was constructed by David and Thomas Stevenson and is a stone tower which is 19 metres high (there are 77 steps to the top of the tower) with the light being at an elevation of 23 metres giving the light a nominal range of 12 nautical miles. The Lighthouse tower is today white with no bands.
The light gives two white flashes every 30 seconds.

The Fog Signal was discontinued in 1987 and the Lighthouse was automated in 1996.
The Lighthouse is now a private residence formerly owned by the Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson.
The original proposal for the lighthouse was for a tower 50 feet in height.
Trinity House sanctioned the establishment of a Light and Fog Signal on 14 February 1878. The Board of Trade sanction was received on 21 February 1878.
Mr Matheson was appointed Inspector of Works on 18 June 1879 with pay at the rate of 10 Shillings and 6 Pence per day with 10 Shillings per week for lodgings and travelling expenses.
The Lighthouse was completed ahead of schedule and went into operation in December 1880.
The Northern Lighthouse Board is today responsible for the operation and maintenance of the automated light.
